The most common deficiencies our surveyors see for Chapter 10-II “Laser and Other Energy-Emitting Equipment of the AAAHC Accreditation Handbook for Ambulatory Health Care:

  • Each type of laser/energy equipment must be included on a provider’s privileging list and approved scope of services.

  • There must be a designated safety officer and laser safety training for all providers/personnel working with laser/energy equipment.

  • A warning sign must be posted at the entrance to the treatment area when the laser is in use.
